DIY Lip Scrub

Bonjour,

I've been meaning to pick up a lip scrub every time I go into lush for the past two months but every time I get distracted by something or other and when I get home remember I haven't purchased it, so this morning my lips were in need of some serious TLC after months of cold weather and almost constantly wearing matte lipstick and I decided to conjour one up myself.
I didn't follow a recipe for this I just did what I thought would work that I had lying around so I would defiantly say this is not edible like the lush one just to be on the safe side!

All I used was some; Aloe Vera Vaseline (I think any petroleum jelly would work though), some granulated sugar and some peppermint oil (and flavour oil could be used I just had peppermint)

I simply put all the Vaseline in a small bowl (there was about 3/4 of the tub left) and mixed in some of the sugar and peppermint oil until I got the consistency I wanted, this left my lips feeling super soft and nourished so I put what I didn't use back into the Vaseline tub and this is what the finished product looks like.

Let me know what you think if you try it out and if you like this type of post.

Autumn/winter lipsticks.

Bonjour!

From the weather we have been having lately I think it's time to accept that summer is over and it's time to start preparing for the colder months.
As much as I love summer because I hate being cold I do love autumn because of all the deep red and purple colours and big baggy jumpers and obviously it means Christmas is nearly here.
I thought I'd share with you my top 6 autumn winter lipsticks/glosses so here goes...

Mac Russian red - This is one of macs best selling lipsticks and it's easy to see why! It's such a lovely deep, almost vampy red that looks flawless on the lips, it's a matte so it stays on really well but make sure you keep your lips moisturised as the cold harsh winter months dry them out and as far as I'm aware this has no moisturiser in it.

Revlon colour stay moisture stain in Parisian paradise - This is a new product and being the lip product addict I am I couldn't resist trying something new. I love the colour of it and it's super moisturising which is perfect for the colder months however it doesn't actually last all that long (approximately 2/3 hours) but for the colour and price I am willing to reapply throughout the day!

Rimmel lasting finish in 170 alarm - this is a really bright and pigmented red that doesn't break the bank, it has more of a glossy and moisturising finish than a matte but unfortunately due to this it doesn't last very long. However I do still love the colour and just reapply it throughout the day.

Maybelline super stay 24 colour in 510 red passion- This is the lipgloss I have been using for the longest amount of time and am still loving! My sister introduced me to it because I loved her lip colour and if she forgot to take it off before bed it would still be there in the morning so it defiantly lives up to its promises! At one end there is a red lipgloss that you apply and then once you have applied that and it's dry you then apply the lipstick on the other end and it's just like a clear lip balm that keeps it on and also allows you to have your lips as glossy or close to matte as you like.

Mac naked Paris- You can never go wrong with a classic nude, I like to use this when I have bold eye makeup or just when I'm going for a simple look. This is a lustre lipstick so is much more moisturising than macs matte collection but in my opinion isn't as good, it's perfect for this colour but I don't think a red would be as good from this collection.

YSL 20- This again is a gorgeous colour as expected from such a well known high end brand and is very moisturising, I tend to use this a lot less than the others as it is a high end gloss and as we all know glosses run out a lot quicker than sticks! This was also my first ever high end makeup product and my sister got it for me so I never want it to run out because of it's sentimental value (I know I'm a freak) but anyways... I would defiantly recommend it because it's a gorgeous colour and texture.

Mini Haul.

Bonjour!

I've recently bought a few things and thought I'd share them with you all...
Last week me, my mum, my dad and brother went to ikea (and I persuaded them to go to the metro centre on the condition i only went in the two shops I wanted to get things from)

I bought this little jar because I thought it would be really cute and handy to put things like rubbers and sharpeners in on my desk and at only 80p who could resist?!

I think the scent of this is tangerine? It smells orangey and it's got orange wax but the name is in Swedish so I have no idea what it's actually called but it smells wonderful and was only 85p!

I also bought two lamps and some little boxes which I will add photos of later on.

Then I went in paperchase to get collage supplies and spent about an hour deciding what to get because it's all so pretty and I wanted it all!

I got this cute little lined exercise book for £3.

These were £6 for all three and are again just simple lined textbooks.

I also got a little diary/day planner to record my work and deadlines in and thought this one was perfect as there is a lot of room to write things, I think this cost about £6.50 but I'm not sure.

The rest of the things I bought were just little bits from town.

Cucumber clay mask which was only £1.29 from body care!

Deep pore clensing nose strips for 99p also from body care.

Tanya burr 'new york night' nail polish which was £5.99 from superdrug ( I think that's the only high street store that sells them but they are available on the internet) I got so exited when I saw these as I love her products and they don't usually stock them in the superdrug I was in.

Rimmel London wake me up foundation in the shade'100 ivory' which was also £5.99 from superdrug.

Revlon colourstay moisture stain in the colour '005 parision passion' which was £5.99 from superdrug. I'm so exited to try this, I think it will be a perfect autum lip colour!

W7 In the buff natural nudes eyeshadow pallet which is suppose to be a really good dupe for the urban decay naked pallet and at only £4.99 from boyes I couldn't not try it!

Finally I got some Schwarzkopf got2b beach matt mermaid look texturising salt spray which was £2.66 from superdrug which is a price I'm defiantly willing to pay for mermaid hair!
